Things of note:
1) Ted Haggard doesn’t believe people fit in a sexual box. Well, Ted you are right. You are obviously more mature than the average mega church wacko on some matters like Mr. Warren. But some people do fit in the gay box. And that is what you need to accept.
2) Ted counseled his wife to leave him. Hmm, seems like a fantasy where he wants to get out of his marriage so he can be himself.
3) Why do people let this guy talk like he is not gay? I know we should respect people’s conception of themselves but geesh, this is crazy. This is how I feel when I am too nice to Christians when they are rambling on about crazy stuff. I wish more people would of told me in the days when I did the same that I just sounded stupid.
4) I think it is fascinating how Haggard keeps mentioning that life is a process and emphasizing how he is evolving. It makes me think he has hope that someday he will be able to live openly as gay. Why do I have a secret hope that this guy is going to mature out of this like Frank Schaeffer did out of his anti-abortion ways and become a voice for homosexuals. Because I am way too idealistic that is why. But this guy is struggling. The way he puts things strikes me as a man who knows the truth inside and doesn’t believe what he is saying.
