“We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and nonbelievers.”
As a nonbeliever myself, this really won me over. That is the first time I’ve heard a public official acknowledge us nonbelievers with my own two ears without a sneer or a demeaning tone of voice. It’s like I’m being…included or something. Weird.
All that goddamn praying didn’t help though - can Rick Warren go back Orange County now so we can all go back to ignoring him? I’m not accountable to your god, dude - go watch U2 perform or some shit.
But anyway, I now have a president who listens to his voice of reason. It’s like I’ve been driving a lemon for the last 8 years and got a brand new car today and said to myself, “Oh, you mean the brakes are supposed to work? I’ll be damned…that is better isn’t it?”
