This is very scary. Several years ago in the U.S. pesticide use almost killed off the songbirds and butterflies except for the book Silent Spring (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Spring) which helped to put an end to the practice. Now excessive pesticide use in Latin America is threating large populations of beautiful migratory birds.
