More Todoist smarts: look at how this search/filter/query area is implemented.
- There is no distinction between search and filter. Just an area to do both.
- Simple little words are used for quick filters. E.g. “7 days” for the next 7 days.
- Notice the small url shortcuts for the most oft-used filters.
- Notice that the small url shortcuts above are not in a dropdown. Most operations in Todoist can be done with one click.
- Some pretty powerful filters can be done actually such “@” for all tags, p1 and p2 for all priority and priority 2 tasks, for premium members “q: john* boulder*” for all bugs with the string “john” and “boulder” in them.
- Notice the dropdown for more queries. The start page is simply a query.
- Notice the ? which takes you to a help page. A simple ? is used everywhere that takes you a consistent set of help pages. The help pages are small but detailed and I have become a poweruser in under a day. A mark of really good software.
